Pst. Chizo Nwaneri
Senior Pastor
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself (Matthew 22:37-39). In these two commandments, Jesus summarized the entire law and the prophets.\n\nLove is the hallmark of the believer. It is not a passive emotion that we wait to feel — it is an active decision that we choose to walk in every single day. Love is patient when the person in front of you in traffic is slow. Love is kind when the cashier is having a bad day. Love keeps no record of wrongs when a friend disappoints you for the third time. This kind of love is supernatural, and it flows from a heart that has first received the love of God.\n\nAs a church family, we are called to be a community defined by love. When visitors walk through our doors, they should feel it before they hear a single sermon. When our neighbours see how we treat one another, they should be drawn to the Christ we serve. I challenge each of you this week: look for one practical way to show the love of God to someone who does not expect it. You may be the only Bible someone reads today.
